Blog reflection

After experiencing your first Literature response blog, take some time to share your thoughts. What did you enjoy about blogging? What didn't you like about using this platform? How did it affect the quality of your experience with To Kill a Mockingbird? What recommendations can you offer?

  1. I really enjoyed this blogging because it made me feel pretty special and it was a very good experience. Why I say this is because I have never been on a blogging website before and it was very understanding to learn. What I didn't like was everyone wasn't fully engaged with this. You won't know how something is unless you keep trying it and you will feel successful like I did. It really didn't affect my quality experience with to kill a mockingbird. The recommendation I have with this is when you get the understanding of it, it will be exciting.

  2. When I first started blogging I felt that it was very interesting because I got to experience some new things. When I first started off during the blog it was a big experience because I didn't really know what to do at first but post some little comments. When I really got the use of during the blog I enjoyed it because I got to express my feelings more about the book. I had got all my thoughts out about the book. Blogging I enjoyed is that it made me understand the book better. It also was fun because I had the good time to go back in fourth with people about what we feel about the book. From the beginning or the blog people made it seem as if it wasn't no point because they really wasn't taking the time ti participate and the blog I really didn't like that. Most people wasn't even taking the time out to read the book and they blog off what other people said that's one thing that made me didn't like blogging. This really affected me because every time somebody would post something you had to worry about the people that didn't read copy most of the stuff that you said on your blog post to what they about to say. I can offer to these people that they should take the time to read more. Maybe if they don't read they should probably listen to the audio.

  3. When we first started the blog it was exciting because it was something that was different and i like to try new things. Also it was fun with interacting with each others. This blog helps us with our arguments too. At the beginning it wasn't so fun because everyone wasn't participating and that was making it boring and making me not wanting to participate. Using the blog helped me out with understanding "To Kill A Mockingbird" better and the things that i needed help on. Things i think we should work on to make it better is to have more people to interact with us and to have everyone in the class to post. I feel like if everyone post then it make it better because you would have many people to go back and fourth with each other. Also i feel that we could make this blog more successful if we all just put in effort.

  4. After experiencing my first literature response blog was good I really enjoyed doing the blog because it showed me how to express how I felt about what my classmates hade to say. It was better for me because I don't like to talk when we are having a class talk because i feel like if i say something that it would not come out the right way so i would like to type it. The blog also helped me to because it shows me how to do things that i have not done before in all of the years that i have been in school. Yes i would like to do a blog again when i get older because you get to see how to do things in a different way you dont always have to talk about things you can use anothe ways and bloging really showed me how to speak my mind in a way of juss talking. This really helped me with To Kill A Mockingbird because it shows me what others thinks about the book. It is also usefull because because you can have an dissagement to somthing that someone was saying or they can even dissagree to what i was saying about a post.

  5. What I enjoyed about blogging was that it gave me and everybody else a chance to find out what we all was thinking about the book so far and how we was able to share our comment with everybody to know if we was thinking the same thing or if we thought that we didn't exactly like or didn't like their opinion.their was nothing that I didn't like about this platform because in my opinion I think this is a lot better than everybody talking at once trying to share their opinion.this affected the quality of my experience with the book in a interesting way because if somebody blogged something that I read and didn't really understand it I can just use the book to help me understand it a little better.the only recommendation I could come up with is if your'e a fast reader slow down.

  6. Almost throughout this whole book we've been using this blog. I have to to say without it I don't think I would have really understood the book like I should have. We constantly make blog questions about the book for almost every part of the book. This came in handy because it basically broke down the book into separate parts and made us think critically about each one , giving us a better understanding. It's also helpful because if I were to be stuck on a part in the book or confused all I would have to do was skim through a couple or several posts referring to what I was confused on and 9 times out of 10 I would find what i was looking for. This blog also helps with creating an intelligent , critically thought out response. When blogging we use C-E-R chains this constructs and supports our essays and writing assignments.

  7. Since this is really my first time blogging for a book i feel as if it was a great experience. I was able to construct an argument based response to multiple questions. I feel that since we blogged our replies it helped me better the way i write because i was able to get criticized by other students on my writing. For example when me and @Brande Gilbert had a disagreement on a post. Once i got through that argument i came out of it learning how to make better reasoning and a stronger C-E-R Chain. One thing i didn't like about blogging is that everything is typed. I don't think that blogging is getting us ready for the future because we may have discussions out loud in high school instead of blogs.
Even though it may not help me in the future it helped me with "To Kill A Mockingbird". By using the Blog i was able to see other peoples point of view on certain parts of the story that i didn't understand. By doing that i was able to understand some parts of the book more and also build arguments off some things i didn't feel was right. I think if we didn't use the blog for "To Kill a Mockingbird" most students wouldn't understand the book as much as they do now.
I don't really have any recommendations for the blog since i felt that it was a GREAT experience. I believe that any class that has to read "To Kill a Mockingbird" should use the blog because its a better way of learning that students may like. Most students may enjoy the blogging process because they may have not been exposed to it yet. These are my overall thoughts of my first literature blog.

  8. What I enjoyed about the blog is that I got a chance to see how people are interacting with the book and their critical thinking skills. The blog was very fun because I could see other peoples opinions and state my own opinions as well. It was very interesting too because it Is a better way of getting all of our thoughts out. What I didn't like about this platform is that some people didn't read the assigned chapters or the book and they would post responses that didn't make sense. It effected the quality of my experience with " To Kill A Mockingbird because it helped develop a better thinking of what the book was teaching me. Everyone had different opinions on the blog and sometimes they were opinions that made me really think about what was going on in the book. For example, I always looked forward to seeing Jessica and Kalvon's post on the blog because they always have a different kind of opinion about certain responses that we have to complete. What I recommend for this blog is that it can become helpful to future eight graders when they read "To Kill A Mockingbird" because then they can get a deeper understanding from our train of thoughts.

  9. One thing I enjoyed about the blog was that you were able to express your thoughts freely but thoughtfully. It was interesting to have debates with some people. One very strong quality this blog had was making me feel different ways after reading other peoples comments/thoughts, wheatear that was making me feel stronger about my thoughts or leaning towards what other people thought. It's interesting when people have strong pieces of evidence and then they grab you into believing their claim is right.

I didn't like the fact that some people overruled some of the conversations and always thought that you couldn't have certain opinions or thoughts. Also it seems like when people made post that they were looking at other peoples post and using their ideas to make their thoughts stronger or more valid. It's also very frustrating when you have people who feel like they know everything and they can't be wrong.
The quality of the blog made me have different perspectives on the book once I seen how people thought of the book and connected it to my feelings about the book or question.

Some recommendations I could offer are that everybody posts their blog entry at the same time so that a persons thoughts are naturally seen and not copied off of another classmates. I also think that the questions should be more tough because they seemed a little easy or like right there answers in my opinion, I like questions that make you think hard that also include your opinion.

  10. After experiencing your first Literature response blog, take some time to share your thoughts. What did you enjoy about blogging? What didn't you like about using this platform? How did it affect the quality of your experience with To Kill a Mockingbird? What recommendations can you offer?

After my first experience with a Literature Response Blog I think I've had so great experiences with it because it allowed me to get my thoughts out without being on the spot light so everything that I said was what I was trying to say and I wasn't for say pressured to say anything that I didn't have anything to say about. I've had a lot of interactions with my fellow bloggers like Kalvon Williams, and Jshunnie Scott they provided a lot of great comments on my responses that I acknowledged because it made me think about the topic in a way that I never thought about before, so when I log into the blog to talk about some other topic I look for their responses because I might try to challenge them just to make my claim even mor stronger. Something's that I didn't like about the blog was that sometimes it lost my interest because we had to respond to a question and I really didn't have anything to say about it like the post "The Missionary Circle: What interesting things emerge from chapter 24?" I didn't have much to say because I don't think the missionary circle was important because all they did was gossip about events that occurred in the town, how is that important the the readers view of the trial and the children making a snowman out of dirt and snow (blacks and whites)? Another thing I didn't like about the blog was that even though we started the blog so that other people can say what they don't get a chance top say in the discussions but, it is still the same people that don't interact with the blog. The blog affected the experiences I had with the novel "To Kill A Mockingbird" because when other bloggers responded to the novel I thought "wow, this novel is even better than what I thought it was" because I had other peoples perspectives on the blog which helped me better understand the novel and I'm pretty sure that they took my perspective of the book and they thought about the novel in a different perspective as well. Some recommendations that I have to offer is to make the post more interesting just to grab the bloggers attention because it will get more blogger actually blogging and interacted with everyone else so that they can understand the novel better.

  11. What I enjoyed about blogging is .. I got it take my time, even though it was a time limit. I expressed my feeling into my words. I concentrated well, when I need it to. And last but not least I was focused on what I needed to get done. What I didn't really like is the time limit we had, and I think we should have had an blogging app so we wouldn't go through allot just to find our blog. Using the blog made me notice how people felt about their different reactions toward the questions we had about TKAM. Also the blog shows me how people put a lot of effort in their comments because that's how they really feel about it. I really don't have any recommendations.

  12. The blog was a little difficult for me because I couldn't fully expressed how I felt without having it in a C-E-R chain. There was a lot of pressure with this type of platform. Although having the blog experience and writing so many blog posts will most likely help me in the future, I still believe that talking out loud would have been a better experience. For instance, when you have an open discussion and it's your turn to talk, everyone will or should be listening to you. In contrast to when you're blogging on a post, everyone might not read your post. In addition, the blog is not really like Facebook because you don't know when everyone is on. With Facebook, you have all your friends on the right side with a green light by their name if there online and you can have private conversations with each person which does not have to be formal. I think we should've had more inquiry discussions because I can get my point across better that way. Sometimes people wouldn't understand me and sometimes I wouldn't understand other people because of the way they type. I understand people better when they talk aloud. Plus I feel more connected. With everyone when were all in a circle discussing our opinions. I also think we should've done more of those organizers that prepared us for that Summer of the White Horse and the Zoo Island discussions. On the other hand, one of the things that I enjoyed about the Drake Mockingbirds blog is how we are able to use the blog for other writing prompts. We can always go back to it in the future. I guess it affected my experience with To Kill A Mockingbird because I had multiple views of the book with different aspects and insights to rethink my thinking. I don't think that the blog should've have been any different because this is school. School is supposed to be formal and it is supposed to push my thinking. I would have just preferred to talk and share my ideas aloud.

  13. When i first starting blogging I felt that it was going to fun and exciting because i was going to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with not just our teacher but and the other kids in the class but with other teachers and adults in the school and because we were trying something new and different . I also felt that when we were going to start using the blog people were going to participate more because we were trying something new and because they were able to talk to each other using other other sources. This blogging experience has helped me a lot because it has helped me get a better understanding of this book and what most people think about the book.My recommendations that I have for this blog is that there should be more a lot more questions that would make me think more and harder.

  14. I enjoy that we can express they way we feel about the novel freely and it lets us give feed back on one another's posts. I enjoy the way students make arguments with each other trying to defend/back up their statements so that others can get a better outcome of what they are trying to say. I enjoy that mostly everyone was engaged and participated in the blog. This to me is a first time experience and i enjoyed this and had fun while it lasted. I didn't like the fact that some people read everyone else's post and then posted their post using the things that others was saying trying to make it look like they understood and read the novel. I don't have any recommendations thus far.

  16. After experiencing my first literature blog response I think that this was a good way to share our thoughts with one another . One thing that I like about the blog was that it was a good way to communicate and understand how others think and their reactions towards "TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD". I think that if everyone would have fully participated our blog would have been better and more interesting than it is now.

The way that I felt about blogging is good because I never been on a blog posting what I think about something and everyone take the time and understanding my thinking. It's interesting to be blogging and when we first started blogging I was frustrated because I didn't no how to work the blog and do the things we had to do until we was getting on the blog daily and I was getting use to what we was doing. On the blog I got to say what I thinked about the book instead of being called on in class and really didn't know what to say and I get to wait a little minute and think on the blog before I type. I got to comment on other people post about what I think about there post and agreeing to others or disagreeing. Blogging helps us make better C-E-R chain when writing a essay. This affect the quality of my experience in to kill a mockingbird because some people be taking others idea.

  18. I agree. The judge should have stepped up and I thought the Boo Radley scene was interesting as well.
